HSE Officer – Work Permit Receiver – Helper – Rigger TUV Level 3 – Electrician – Firewatch

Role Summary

The Mechanical Supervisor is a key position in industrial, construction, and shutdown projects, responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications. This role is essential in large-scale industrial environments such as petrochemical facilities and manufacturing plants, where mechanical systems must perform with high precision. Acting as the main link between engineers, technicians, and on-site workers, Mechanical Supervisors ensure that all operations are carried out according to company policies and project timelines.

In industrial hubs like Al Jubail, where shutdowns and maintenance projects are frequent, the Mechanical Supervisor ensures that mechanical work follows approved procedures. They manage teams, coordinate with multiple departments, and monitor project progress to meet deadlines. Their leadership guarantees compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational guidelines during installations, maintenance, and complex mechanical tasks.

Primary Duties

Mechanical Supervisors manage the daily operations of mechanical teams on-site, ensuring that all activities are completed to project standards and safety protocols. They oversee mechanical fitters, fabricators, pipe fitters, and other skilled technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are performed accurately. Responsibilities also include reviewing technical drawings, creating work schedules, and allocating manpower efficiently to maintain smooth workflow.

Supervisors are responsible for monitoring equipment performance and ensuring installations or repairs meet quality standards. Regular inspections of work areas and ongoing communication with engineers, safety officers, and project managers are required to quickly address issues and implement solutions. Enforcing safety protocols, ensuring proper use of tools and PPE, and maintaining thorough documentation of work permits, inspections, and daily reports are all critical functions of this role.

Required Skills & Expertise

Successful Mechanical Supervisors need strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and maintenance procedures. Experience in reading engineering drawings, interpreting specifications, and guiding teams is vital. Practical experience in plant maintenance, shutdown operations, or construction projects is highly desirable.

Leadership and communication skills are essential, as supervisors manage large teams and coordinate across departments. They must be capable of planning work schedules, allocating manpower effectively, and resolving on-site challenges. Familiarity with workplace safety protocols, industry regulations, and quality standards is critical, especially in high-risk industrial environments. Prior experience with major industrial companies or petrochemical facilities is advantageous.
